February Events “Mardi Gras Sunday”: Sunday, February 19 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. In the tradition of those who decided to have their last party before this somber time of Lent, you are encouraged to dress up! Wear masks, beads, and bring a noise maker. We will worship with joy and abandonment.
Ash Wednesday: Wednesday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The season of Lent begins with this service and the imposition of ashes. We will plant bulbs and watch them grow as we journey to Easter and new life.
First Sunday of Lent: Sunday, February 26 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. We will celebrate God’s rainbow covenant made with Noah. Following the worship service, there will be a congregational meeting to affirm the church’s profile and search committee!
"Living the Questions" (LtQ): Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. or 6-8 p.m. in the Sanctuary Our small group exploration of progressive Christianity titled, “Living the Questions” starts up again on Wednesday, February 29. LtQ is an open-minded study that strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring both their current beliefs and the future of Christianity and the church. We will use DVD resources with 20 minute video segments that include conversations with leading voices of faith, stories that illustrate aspects of an evolving faith, and concrete spiritual practices and disciplines. Come and join the conversation; everyone
is welcomed. If you did attend the beginning sessions and would like to
join in now, give the office a call at 310-375-4441, and we can provide
you with a binder with all of the old session topics.
